Are you sure Wenzel is a first time author!?! This is a phenomenally written book! Both me and my two boys loved it! A fantastically written story with intricate details and quick storyline. Another Jack London in the making! We can't wait for his next book.
This is a great book, I didn't want it to end. The plot was great with plenty of twists and described in a way that made me feel like I was part of the action. Looking forward to more!
From the thrilling action to the heart waking relationships, this is one of the best books that I have ever read. The characters are quick thinking and charismatic. Neverland is described in amazing details and the dialogue is always witty and interesting. A great read for all ages, it is a book that can be put into only one word FANTASTIC.
Wenzel has taken great to the next level. His sentence structure, imagination and writing come from a place called genius. Each page turn will transport you to a new place, introduce you to a new character and then drop you into the middle of a life or death battle that must be won. Boundless fun for all ages and a must read for Pre-teen and Jr. High boys. Parents and grandparents don’t miss this opportunity to get a real adventure back in his hands. This just turned birthday and holiday gift buying easy! The back cover says this is Jon’s first book, I can’t wait for more.
My reviewFrom the opening hook of the prologue to the battling pirates on the open seas to the touching tragedy of losing a loved one, PeterA Tale From Neverland, does not fail to impress. Many first authors would not tackle a classic like Peter Pan, but Wenzel creates a magnificent back story for the boy who didn't want to grow up. Likewise, he introduces us to the characters of Neverland. We can explore the island together and see how they morphed into the Barrie masterpiece. Wenzel makes the story his own, but does not stray from authenticity of the original. It is an excellent tribute to the classic. Even if you are not a Peter Pan fan, this novel does not fail to impress with action, humor and heart.
Right from the beginning I was pulled into this story! The writing is so descriptive that I felt and saw every bit of the story. The characters are fascinating, the battle scenes kept me on the edge of my seat, the relationships are heart warming, it is hard to put this book down. I recommend 'Peter' for youths and adults alike!
I just finished reading this book and really enjoyed it! I loved how each time I opened up to read it I was taken to the magical world of Neverland. I also loved seeing how things unfolded to reveal the Peter Pan we all know. So creative and a very enjoyable read! )
